Vinyasa Krama means art and flow. The practice is a flowing sequence of yoga postures synchronised with the rhythm of your breathing. Your body, breath and mind move as one. The practice energises and rejuvenates your whole system, giving you a toned, healthy body and an alert and peaceful mind.
Vinyasa Krama can be practised by anyone. Whatever your age, level of fitness and yoga experience, the journey begins where you are. You work with what is possible for you, gradually coaxing your body to release old tensions and open to the flow of life.
Vinyasa Krama is an individual practice. You learn a personalised series of yoga postures and breathing exercises, becoming independent in your practice and taking your yoga with you wherever you go.
Vinyasa Krama is a method taught by Sri T. Krishnamacharya, guru of B.K.S. Iyengar (Iyengar yoga), Pattabhi Jois (Ashtanga yoga), T.K.V. Desikachar (Viniyoga) and Srivatsa Ramaswami (Vinyasa Krama yoga). Vinyasa Krama is a rich practice. It has dynamic flowing sequences like Ashtanga, but is also adaptable to the individual like Viniyoga. The practice can be both challenging and nurturing, according to your needs.
